Something’s brewing for the Olde Naples Building, but time will tell how the timing and details take shape. Rick Doody, founder and CEO of NCR Ventures, an Ohio-based restaurant group, said he and his team were still working on the menu, food and design for the classic American grill. The opening marks a revival for the building—built in 1921, it’s older than Collier County—which has sat empty since 2006.

Peter’s German Ice Cream & Coffee Shop opened in a new downtown Fort Myers location May 15. Owners (and German natives) Marika and Stefan Weiss dreamt of opening an ice cream shop in Florida for decades, and made good on that dream in 2021 with their Hendry Street location. They were forced from that spot in January, closing for months until they found their new Dean Street home—a sweet dream come true.
And, the new Liki Tiki BBQ opened on Fort Myers Beach after Hurricane Ian destroyed the original location at the corner of Estero Boulevard and Ohio Avenue. Owner Gordon Stojkoski bought a spot on San Carlos Boulevard, bringing back the well-loved men, packed with smoked brisket and ribs, pulled pork, conch fritters, and coconut shrimp. |
