The U.S. News & World Report, which provides education rankings, released its 2022-2023 Best Colleges list on Monday.
The list evaluates and ranks 1,500 colleges and universities in up to 17 academic quality measures. Some schools are tied when ranked.
And Florida schools cracked the top five in a number of categories:
- University of Florida : No. 5 for public schools in the nation.
- Rollins College: No. 1 for regional universities in the south.
- Stetson University: No. 5 in regional universities in the south.
- Flagler College: No. 2 for regional colleges in the south.
- Polytechnic University : No. 3 for regional colleges in the south.
- Keiser University: No. 1 for social mobility among national universities.
- Florida International University: No. 4 for social mobility among national universities.
The rankings are calculated based on academic quality and place emphasis on outcome measures – including graduation rates, retention rates, graduate indebtedness and social mobility, the release states. Outcomes are the most highly weighted ranking factor, contributing 40% to each school's overall score.
